Add-ons

Backup is not included at any tier, and the server is unmanaged by default. These are the two most worth adding.

Daily Backup 7-day retention Nightly encrypted snapshots of the whole server, held offsite for seven days and restorable from the client area without a ticket. No tier includes backup by default; this is the minimum we would run on anything holding data you cannot recreate.

On application

Daily Backup 30-day retention Nightly encrypted offsite snapshots with thirty days of retention — the window you need to recover from corruption or a ransomware event discovered weeks after the fact, rather than merely from last night's mistake.

On application

Monitoring & Alerting One-minute checks on host reachability, CPU, memory, disk and the services you nominate, with email and SMS alerting. Alerts raise a ticket automatically, so a failure at 03:00 is already in the queue when you wake up.

On application

Managed Support - Basic We take the operating system: patching on a monthly window, security updates out of band, monitoring, and a 24-hour response target on anything we did not cause.

On application

Managed Support - Professional Everything in Basic, plus CIS-aligned hardening, a four-hour response target, and a quarterly review of capacity, patch posture and cost against what you are actually using.

On application

Additional IPv4 Address An additional dedicated IPv4 address with its own reverse DNS record.

On application

Additional Storage 100 GB A 100 GB NVMe volume attached to an existing server, expandable in place. Use it when you need storage without paying for cores and memory you will not use.

On application

Bandwidth Top-up 5 TB 5 TB of additional monthly transfer, added to your allocation and renewing with the service.

On application

SQL Server Standard Licence A SQL Server Standard licence provided under our hosting agreement, so the database sits on your ShiftHosts invoice rather than a separate Microsoft agreement.
