Where your data lives.
Stated plainly here and on every product page, because it is the kind of thing that must not be discovered after purchase.
Workloads in this region are stored and processed outside Nigeria. If you are a CBN-regulated entity, a public-sector body, or otherwise subject to a data-residency obligation, this region will not satisfy it. Personal data transferred here is handled under the NDPR cross-border transfer provisions.
The current position
Every ShiftHosts cloud server is hosted in our Central Europe region. There is no Nigerian region today, and no configuration on the current price list can be provisioned inside Nigeria.
Who this matters to
For most commercial customers it is unremarkable — the region is well connected, well regulated, and covered by a mature data-protection regime. It is not suitable if you are:
- A CBN-regulated entity subject to domestic data-residency directions
- A public-sector body or an agency contracting on public-sector terms
- Bound by a contract or sector rule requiring processing within Nigeria
If any of these apply, tell us before you order. We would rather lose the sale than sell you infrastructure you cannot lawfully use.
NDPR position
Personal data you place on a ShiftHosts server is transferred outside Nigeria and handled under the cross-border transfer provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation. We record the hosting region of every workload, disclose it at the point of sale, and can report on it for your own compliance records.
A Nigerian region
Whether to build one is an open commercial decision, not a scheduled deliverable. We will not list a Lagos region on this site until it exists and can be provisioned. If residency is a requirement for you, that is useful for us to know — it is one of the inputs to that decision.
